Anoop Bose
Anoop Bose is an internationally reputed senior lawyer practicing in the Supreme
Court of India, Delhi High Court, Calcutta High Court and various High Courts
and Tribunals in India. He started his legal practice under the late Mr.Asoke
Kumar Sen, the undisputed leader of the Indian Bar for over 50 years and the
Union Law Minister in the Cabinets of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur
Shastri and Rajiv Gandhi.
He has also worked very closely with Mr.Fali S. Nariman, Senior Advocate, and
former MP (Rajya Sabha), and presently the leader of the Indian Bar. Some of the
top companies in India such as Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd., Tata
Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS), the flagship of the Tatas and India’s largest
private sector employer in India, Reliance Industries Ltd., ITC Ltd., ICI India Ltd.,
ICI India Ltd., Hindustan Unilever Ltd. And Indian Oil Ltd. are some of his
important clients. He has been closely associated with the House of Tata as a
Counsel and Advisor for over 40 years and has been an Advisor to TCS for over 12
years.
He is the Global Legal Counsel and Business Advisor to Spartamatrix Inc., USA, a
world leader in Satellite Tracking and Logistics. He also interacts very closely with
top Embassies and High Commissions in Delhi as a lawyer and advisor and has
been closely associated with the US-India Chamber of Commerce, the Indo-British
Chamber of Commerce, the Indo-Israeli Chamber of Commerce, the India-
Netherlands Business Association, CII, FICCI, Assocham, PHD Chamber of
Commerce & Industry and other chambers of commerce in India and abroad. The
cause of world peace and global understanding has always been dear to his heart.
He addressed a select gathering of MPs and other eminent persons in the House of
Lords in February 2009 and was awarded the prestigious “Ambassador of Peace
Award “in the House of Lords. In April, 2009, he was also invited to the House of
Commons. He was also invited by Chatham House and by the Universal Peace
Federation in London. He has been a lifelong opponent of Genocide. He has been
intimately associated with media, TV, Radio and films since his school days in
Delhi. He has been a TV newsreader, interviewer and feature and documentary
filmmaker. He is a well-known writer and writes regularly for the Daily Guardian.
He is also an avid lover of Western classical music and has one of the largest
private collections of Western classical music in Asia, comprising mostly rare 33
rpm vinyl discs. He has also been a Western Classical music critic. He is a self-
taught artist, painter and sculptor.
He had a very close association with India’s former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi
and Rajiv Gandhi. Anoop Bose was part of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha
Rao’s innermost circle and worked very closely with him during the fateful years
when the Indian economy underwent a total transformation. He is also close to
former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri’s family. He is also close to Mahatma
Gandhi’s family and is actively involved with the Mahatma Gandhi Nelson
Mandela Peace Initiative with Gandhi’s granddaughter Tara Bhattacharjee and
leading personalities in South Africa and with Afro-Asian solidarity with the
Government of Rwanda. He is extremely close to the Jewish community and has
been associated with leading Jewish organizations worldwide. He has been an
insightful student of the Holocaust and has visited the dreaded death camp
Auschwitz in Poland.
He draws indefinable strength from Maryada Purushottam Lord Rama and Pavan
Putra Lord Hanuman and was one of the main lawyers in the Supreme Court of
India championing the cause of the Ramjanmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. And he
is a devoted worshipper of Goddess Kali. He has been greatly influenced by the
teachings and ideals of Abraham Lincoln, Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi,
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhai Patel and
Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. And last but not least, he is an indefatigable admirer
and supporter of India’s charismatic Prime Minister Narendra Modi…the Magic of
Developing India!
